Electrical Panel Projects for Glendora, CA

Electrical Panel | Accurate Electrical, Plumbing, Heating and Air

Beyond a doubt, the electrical systems of our Glendora homes are responsible for the quality of life that we enjoy on a daily basis. It’s hard to imagine a single everyday task that is not made possible in some way by electricity. Lighting, central air, food storage and preparation, entertainment and communication are only made possible through electricity. One of the most important aspects of this system is the electrical panel, which distributes the electrical power feed into the multiple circuits throughout a home or business. It also provides protection for those circuits with fuses (circuit breakers) for each circuit in one location. At Accurate Electric, Plumbing, Heating, and Air, our Glendora electricians specialize in installing, repairing, and replacing electrical panels.

We can help you with:

  • Electrical Panel Replacements
  • Electrical Panel Upgrades

Breaker Panel Upgrades

Do you have a recurring problem with blown fuses? When breakers continue to blow (or trip) after they have been reset, it could be a sign that there isn’t enough power to cover your home. Adding more power to your electrical system will require the assistance of a licensed electrician. A professional can properly assess the situation and offer solutions for correcting the problem. Sometimes all that is required is adding a new circuit; which is a relatively simple procedure. Sometimes the solution is more complicated; which might mean installing a new breaker panel, additional wiring and a new electrical meter. Accurate Electric, Plumbing, Heating, and Air can talk you through the options and find the best solution for your needs.

Reasons to Replace an Electrical Panel:

  • Home Renovations/Room Addition
  • Appliance Power Compromised
  • Not Enough Outlets for Household Needs
  • Circuit Breakers Continuously Tripping
  • Outlets Are Two Pronged (Not Grounded)
  • Panel Box Makes Crackling Noises
  • Need to Add a 240v Circuit
  • Lights Flickering When Appliances Turned On

What Makes A Breaker Trip?

A circuit breaker is a safety mechanism that is designed to shut off (trip) the electricity to a circuit when it senses an overloaded circuit, a short circuit or a ground fault. All of these occurrences have the capability to harm and even destroy a home’s electrical system. The most common reason for a breaker to trip is an overloaded circuit. When more amperage is put across an electrical wire or circuit than it can handle, the breaker will shut down the entire circuit.

A short circuit and a ground fault are more serious reasons for a breaker to trip – and are more difficult to identify. When the “hot” wire and a “neutral” wire touch each other it causes an increased amount of current to flow. This results in a short circuit and causes the breaker to trip. When a “hot” wire comes into contact with the ground wire (or grounded part of a junction box or an appliance), this creates a ground fault. The result is similar to a short circuit; an increased amount of current flows through the wire, causing the breaker to trip. While both occurrences are hard to diagnose, a professional electrician should be able to identify the problem. Both a short circuit and a ground fault could indicate a serious electrical problem.
